Ignite Liverpool is seeking presenters for it’s next event

Passionate and enthusiastic about something? Could be about anything at all? Literally, anything! And if you care so much are you willing to stand up for just five minutes and tell a few people about it? Right then, perhaps you can help… Ignite Liverpool is looking for speakers to talk (about anything) for its next event in August.

Ignite Liverpool is an informal evening where members of the public share their knowledge and experience about a subject of their choice using a Powerpoint presentation for just five minutes. Chosen subjects can be serious, humorous, inspiring, obscure, literally anything and some are downright rude at times – but they’re always entertaining.

Ignite Liverpool began in April 2010 and more than 100 speakers have hit the stage to entertain its growing audience on a variety of subjects from cathedrals, Wimpy Restaurants, bell ringing, diamonds and let’s not forget Victorian cannibals and unicorns. Take a look for yourself – all talks are on the website and Youtube channel.

This is a fun, free and informal evenings of discussion and socialising for everyone, with ample opportunity to network after the talks.

Neil Morrin, Director at How Why DIY said

Ignite Liverpool is about creating an atmosphere that allows everyone the opportunity to be a pop star for five minutes and share the passion they have for something; it can be about anything at all.

We’ve heard talks about storm surges, margarine and the history of Air Jordans, unicorns, beer, and the list goes on.

Plenty people – and from around the world too – join us from home since we offer a ‘watch at home’ experience through our live stream video so the remote audience can comment and respond from their armchairs using the twitter hastag #igniteliv. It’s very much a two-screen experience.”
