Ignite Birkenhead: Lighting Up Ideas at Start Yard!

For more than 15 years, Ignite Liverpool has been a place where people from all walks of life take to the stage to share their ideas, passions, and projects — five minutes at a time. Since its first event back in 2010, hundreds of speakers have inspired audiences with stories about creativity, technology, community action, and everything in between.

Held four or five times a year, Ignite has grown into one of the region’s most inclusive, grassroots platforms for sharing knowledge and celebrating the ideas that make our city region such a special place to live, work, and create. Each event brings together a mix of entrepreneurs, artists, activists, technologists, and curious minds — all united by a simple mission: to share something they love and spark conversations that matter.

Now, for the first time, Ignite is crossing the water to the Wirral — and we couldn’t be more excited.

Our next event, Ignite Birkenhead, will take place at Start Yard, the town’s new hub for creativity, enterprise, and innovation. This marks an important milestone: bringing Ignite’s fast-paced, community-driven energy to a space that’s at the heart of Birkenhead’s growing creative and business ecosystem.

Ignite Birkenhead is an opportunity to connect people and ideas, to celebrate innovation and creativity, and to show what’s possible when a community comes together.

Let’s light up Birkenhead with ideas, inspiration, and imagination.

Pitch and Put-it-out-there at the Break

Don’t forget if you have a project that you want to talk about then at the end of the break we have our Pitches section –which gives audience members the opportunity 1 minute to jump up on stage and tell the rest of the world (especially those watching at home) about a great project, event or maybe even just about something they are proud of. We make an announcement about this during the break so listen out.

FAQs

Doors: 6pm

What time do the Talks start?
The talks start at 7pm. We open the doors early so everyone can get settled before hand.

Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?
please email – admin at Igniteliverpool.com

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
NO – but you can if you want.

This is the end of Market Street – Ivy Street is in the distance.

Getting There
The best way to get there is via the train or bike. Get off at Hailton Square station, walk across the square (past the Town hall) and turn left down Market Street, go to the end, you’ll be faced with a dual carrageway (Chester Street) – find the pedestrian lights (on the right). Cross over and go down Ivy Street. Don’t go all the way down to the river but turn right onto Church Street – that will take you to Start-Yard.

Want to speak?
We’re looking for people from across the region to take the stage — whether you’re a maker, entrepreneur, community leader, artist, student, or local resident with a story to tell. You don’t need to be a professional speaker — just someone with an idea, a project, or a passion worth sharing.
